First Colony Overview
homeover
The first line indicates the star and astro positions in the Vast Universe. The second line is the name of your home astro. You can change it by clicking in the "rename" link in the lower right part of the screen.

The second line shows your account name and, between square brackets, the federation you belong to. To join a federation you need a special building, the Embassy.

The next line has four numbers, two of them in between parentheses. The first pair is the current population and the max population your astro can hold. The second pair is the used building slots and the maximum buildings you can have on that astro.

In the next line you see the percentages that correspond to that base structure development, ship production and technological research capacities. When you build a level of a structure that affects any of them, those percentages will change accordingly.

The next section is very important: it's where you can see the health of your colony, and its capacity to keep growing or contribute to your Empire.

The four values at the bottom ("Net income") are the most important ones. They show if your base is obtaining a positive or negative hourly income. If any of those figures is positive, they will add the stated amount into the "Available" line every hour. Similarly, if any of them is negative, they will subtract from the "Available" amount every hour. So you not only do not want them to be negative, but to be as positive as you can manage to.

The top line, "Available", is the actual amount of resources and monetary you have at your disposal for adding structures to the base, building ships, or researching technologies. This amount is exclusive to the base you are looking at, and it's not shared at Empire level. In short, it's your base's treasure.

The lines in between ( "Output", "Base Consumption" and "Fleet Consumption" ) are the ones that define the Net Income of the base (i.e. the bottom line). "Output" is the amount of resources and cash your buildings and population produce every hour. "Base Consumption" is the amount of resources consumed by the buildings and population present in the base. "Fleet Consumption" is the amount of resources that any fleet assigned to that base needs to keep running. Output is a positive number, while Base and Fleet consumptions are subtracted from Output to obtain the Net Income that gets added/subtracted to the "Available" amounts of resources and cash.

Now it's time to start adding buildings to the base, and for that we will click on the Development link.
